Kid Stuff

Earlier this year, I bought DD's snow gear for the 2014-15 winter. There are always such good sales in February.  Normally, I will size up so DD can get a couple years out of an item.  Last year I bought snow pants in a size 6.  I figured they would be a little big, but that was OK since she can wear them again the following winter.  Snow was in the forecast this week, so this past weekend, I had kiddo try on the pants.  She was swimming in them.  Oh my.  I had her try on the pair she wore last year.  They just fit, but were a little short.  They were a size 3T(!).    That's OK, she can wear them this week until I can order a new pair.  I had a 30% off coupon for Lands End, so I just bought another pair of size 5 snow pants.  They should arrive this week.

Depending on how much kiddo grows this year, she may be able to wear the snow pants again next year (I hope).  If not, I have a size 6 waiting.  It's disappointing because I thought I was ahead of the curve.  Instead I'm out $38 that I didn't plan on.  I may not buy seasonal clothes in advance anymore.  I'm not sure it's worth it.

First Post!

I've created this blog to try to keep myself on track.  I have a few savings goals I need to accomplish, but I've been lazy!  I haven't searched out good used alternatives for things I need and I've also rushed out and bought things I wasn't really in love with.

My grocery bill is high also, and I need to work on planning menus better and using what I have on hand.

I live with my hubby and kiddo and my favorite season is winter. :)
